Ache

Spinning alone with old jaded vinyls

Warm sun kissed floorboards... beneath bare feet

Bleeding out lyrics life-blood of my soul

Here in my attic room... get high on beat

Amidst Sandalwood plumes... arms serpentine

Rich, black mocha-velvet... courses through veins

Catch for a minute wide-eyed emerald smile

Full-length gilt mirror... bewitched by dream-gaze

Your scent on my hair... touch lingers, vibrates

Electric prints tingle... you haunt my skin

I caress grazed lips... remember your taste

Crumpled sheets echo... whisper love’s sins

Wishing you‘d come back... come twirl me around

Eye to eye, slow dance... our bodies entwined

Needing you now... on our love’s hallowed ground

Ache for you endlessly... tattooed on mind

Flightless

With great trepidation, I stepped out into the altered umbra light

Wild abandonment stirred in my delicate Papillon heavenquake soul

I hoped you’d be my final, yearned for… peaceful destination

But you cast a long shadow, claimed the sun... my crown of ebony and bone

Scathed forever, my wildflower-papyrus dipped heart

Paper-cut promises stung, tore open azure’s skyscape’s door

Your darkling’s apocalypse seeped into the core of my daydreamer’s silvery being

Choreographed immaculately...

day-to-day intricate, positioned strangulation; mercenary drip-fed suffocation, poisoned Ivy’s angular design

Now I'm left in desolation, dire blind desperation… utterly undone

Trying futility to reanimate my winged essence... kindle whats still hidden, stealthily nestled inside

My mind’s portal... imagination’s innate compass relentlessly spins

Its hallucinatory, intangible, ghost-like, distorted starlight’s needle...

pin-points precisely the never-ending, perpetual questioning

Repaints light fractals in dusky shades of saffron and severance...

as it ventures to unravel all the lies it's ever been told

Oh why did you come to destroy, ravage, dissect and plunder...

smash apart my kintsugi hope, that I'd awkwardly managed to tether

Why drag me cuffed and chained deeper asunder,

only to torment and torture... a soul already scared, battered and bruised

Oh, to think I confided in you... how I’d been so cruelly, brutally broken

How my soul had been abandoned, shattered, scattered…

splintered into failed epiphanies of smithereens

Damned for what I thought was my penance...

to eternity’s bottomless echo chamber

How I’d somehow managed, to miraculously clamber...

into a hammock of diaphanous temporary solace

Wistfully withdrawn, but ever-so-grateful,

for a repose from the vengeful storm

Tell me though why... was it to watch me merely scramble and struggle

or to illuminate the clandestine path back from perdition?

The one that had remained an enigma...

opaque and undisclosed;

so enigmatic to your apathetic, egotistical skewed heart

Didn't you realise, I’d have gladly led you to safety... guided you freely

Blissfully, we could have bathed in sunsets... and risen, surrendered to sunrise

Made love... two spirits, flares fused, impassioned, unencumbered;

spun from fervent sunlight’s pure radiant shards of gold

Entwined, reinforced branches... basking in milky, honied moonlight

But I guess you only wanted me stripped, bare and naked...

a soulless reflection of your lonely, empty, vacuous cavern;

your meagre depths of perception... tissue-thin paper misconceptions

To scribe in bloodless screams... dark putrid poems,

maps to etch upon the insipid canvas of my anaemic epidermis

Yet in truth, all you've managed to do... is render us both lost in pain’s labyrinth,

where not even a single drop of art or poetry was exsanguinated

As what you failed to see is we both could have soared euphorically

We needed not our feet... just a pair of playful carefree, compassionate kite souls;

two bountiful, brave, hot air balloons... full of buoyant, redolent dreams

But instead like a contorted caterpillar, in this numb, airless dwelling... here I lie!

A sepia shackled, raped butterfly... winged wraith, cocooned and caged,

dehydrated of love’s energising elixir;

trying unsuccessfully, alone, to patiently sew...

patchwork, subdued glimmers of iridescent staved sunshine

Attempting to repair my tired, bedraggled aura... that still burns in the embers of my flightless wings

So tell me, was it worth it? Is this what you dreamed of and wanted?

To watch it all burn down... with me struck stupid, bound dutifully like a moth to your flames

Delusional, in thinking we were still salvageable,

tied tightly to love’s torrid tourniquet

And if so please tell me why… for God’s sake explain... so that I, may at least die enlightened

Sure, I’m frightened but peace… oh illusive empyrean peace,

your sweet pearlescent relief... I’d welcome open-heartedly

As I tediously plough and till… long winter’s barren stone-littered field,

waiting in earnest to emerge from my copper gossamer chrysalis

To shake this earth-soaked melancholic peel... from my wanton dishevelled heart

Which do you see?

Exist in temporary skin structures… sublime!

Quantum stardust sculpted... refashioned alive!

Long mortuus stars once... now sentient made Back to Brahman’s Ōṃ… we'll again fade, decay

Our amplitude’s magnitude... is energy!

Higher vibration... lifts love's frequency

We’re Rubens Tube's flames... brightly dancing sound-waves

The result, perceptions… impulses of brain

Our lives have... infinite  possibilities

Iindividualised consciousness... we perceive

Our world as matter... a synced, coded program

Time in spatial portions... we view as hologram

We're all miracles... each life’s miraculous!

Which do you see… everything… or nothingness?

The Day Of The Dead

Round and around

adjacent...

underground

Beyond me...

despite me

Through me...

inside me

In over my head,

mind full of dread...

bedhead descent

Head over heels...

fell for their spiel

Am I dead?

No!

Just left,

hung in suspense...

by narcissistic intent

Conditioned...

condensed

Flayed,

by dismay...

when my thoughts

slipped away

Caught dreaming

of better-hued days

Betrayed...

given away

by my myriad of words

Cursed...

by belligerent herd

Their greasy hands

slick…

thick with greed

Kneading,

lusting,

wanting...

pieces of me

Berating...

my peaceful fuelled dreams

My

body’s

bruised peach,

sick...

to its stone

Seeping...

gifted

poisons

Bleeding...

scarlet

ribbons of need

Watering their seeds

of infinite...

egotistical needs

But can

thought-flowers

break through...

intricate facades,

ornate

skull masks...

The Day Of The Dead?

Could,

my rose wreath

eclipse...

enlighten

their fierce,

wizened

skewed doom

Or perhaps

instead,

familiarity ferment...

cause resentment

Either way,

I’m no longer present

for their rise

or demise...

scribed out of lies

Devised

to spy

into my kaleidoscope mind…

mosaic glued-life

Which

I tried

to compost anew...

fertilize hope,

truth!

Even though

they...

never planned to stay,

despite

love-bomb charade

Just considered me

stone,

used...

to step upon

After all

words

could never

break bones...

or could they?

No matter,

only stayed...

a very short while

Until,

their paranoia

bred wild...

triggered

my innate

intervention

At last

my self-worth…

began its rebirth,

as they

tried

to seize…

what was left of me,

a divvied-up whole

But what do I know?

I only hoped

to grow strong

Yet,

here I am…

buried alive,

when just

wished to thrive

Mistook…

chameleons

for guides!

Slithering

aside

into colourful arrays…

a magnificent display

auroras’ decay,

adorning my grave

Deft

allegories in vain,

spent

cuttings they gave…

withering away

Just a vase

of nasty

dead heads…

red slender threads,

tourniquets…

to false fates

Not

beloved soul mates…

torn,

broken apart

as Zeus coldly slew...

parted,

made two

from one single form

Yes,

I've been

darned...

too many times,

with

“Baby please,

give me one last chance”

Even though spears

keep falling

like tears…

cascading through

black-holed

voids

Once bright,

azure gems…

now swallowed indents

Shadows of hurt,

taking their toll…

relentless hyperbole

Shambolic parade…

sharp callous

chicanes

Carved out

crevices….

from behind-back,

crossed promises

Deafening…

the audacity,

as I watch

circumventing,

coldly calculating

serpentine…

circumnavigating

Seemingly…

endless faux chain,

doubling back

again and again…

upon me,

upon she,

upon themselves

Only...

to plant

meaningless questions,

that lead me

nowhere

Utterly lost

in despair’s

labyrinth of pain…

beneath traumas’

patched quilt,

my life has built

But does it

even

matter?

My head’s full

of their chatter

Ghosts with excuses,

returning as

Zombies

As really...

does anyone

truly care

anymore?

Luna

Wet nose and snuffly kisses
When darkness strangles me
She offers her paw... cocks sweetly, her head
Settles weight upon my knees

She seems to know me better
Than I could ever know myself
Somehow, she regulates my heartbeat
Soothes... helps me catch my breath

Her humanesqe smile‘s heart melting
Loving gaze... forever fixed
I’m her beloved ‘Mummy’ human
She’s my faithful ‘Luna’ bitch

Our love is unconditional
It does not have a cost
She warms me in the winter
I save her half my lunch

Takes pleasure in the small things
Delicately... smells each flower
To her, I’m always beautiful
She makes me feel empowered

She’s my fluffy little angel
My loving... furry friend
One woman and her dog
Each day’s a snuggle fest!

She knows just how to comfort
And loves my belly rubs
When tears will not stop falling
Licks gently... shows her love

She’s my saviour... little buddy
Starlit moon... that lights my way
She bathes my life in blessings
Guides me through... my sickest days

Belle Of The Sea.

As he opened that shell
A book…
of iridescent wonder,
sounding bell of the sea
Its shrill… salty sweet tang
from the blue,
goose-necked barnacled,
plastic
honesty-box altar
Snug, at the crux
where the seaweed’s woven…
rickety,
knitted jetty
kissed the black
volcanic eeled road
Where a pot-holed pontoon
with crab-pots strewn
marked the spot!
Small...
orange roped floats
strung like bunting,
left gently bobbing
Crowned...
the stunning
hidden dalliance
of warm tidal waves
lapping
Over...
where Black Guillemots
pay their homage,
past the abandoned
carcass
of a picturesque postcard...
Croig Pier’s
fishing boat wreckage
Where the day’s weary sun
lulled...
spilled forth
sun-blushed skies,
fine slithers of clouds
in gentle wisp
of silk,
exsanguinating plumes
of rich salmon, pink hues
Ribbons…
of dusky decadent shades
through the jaws of decay’s
splintered, archaic
picture frames
Snapshots of time
unfurled...
through crumbling portholes,
slowly reclaimed
by Nature’s
powerful prowess

There…
I cast out my soul
upon a single
iced breath
Set adrift…
upon the calm rhythmic sway
of clear sea-glass sheen
over netted lace foam
Carved...
by silver-edged waves
of deep
aquamarine
Mull’s
golden orb bays
bathed
In sunlight’s cascade,
falls fine twinkling rain
from sun to the sea
Diamonds scattered…
forever within me,
as then and there…
I knew...
instantly
I was meant to be
her loyal
lifelong castaway
Bound
by her hypnotic ways
for all eternity...
she would haunt me
She...
a grand Eagle Isle
with white-tipped shores
Scotland’s priceless pearl
the gem
of them all...
where my troubadour
spirit
would forever
roam free,
beneath her
glacier Munros
Proud...
speckled edged
puffin cliffs
loud...
beckoning me
in endless whispers
bewitching,
from far across
the cool
cobalt
langoustine sea
To please...
come on wee lassie
come on,
hurry home!

Cradle

 I
bled
roses
at your grave…
cold garden of stone
Prayed, you’d revive from earth’s mulched bed
Tugged firm at grief’s deep roots; hands torn, turned sanguine through thorns
Watered, pruned... still, did not return
Petal’s now pillow
to gently
cradle
my
head
