This Book Of Me

There are many things I am
Things that make me, *me*
I am empathic litmus paper
to all the suffering that I perceive

I've been the gasoline poured
on a lover's wanton flame
I am often quite nostalgic
wishing things would stay the same

I can be confusingly contrary -
an animal lover who still eats meat?!?
In my youth, sometimes flirtatious
whisking admirers off their feet

I can be painfully naive
just as a teen's first love
Usually peaceful and serene
just as the wild but gentle dove

I'm like the hardy dandelion seed
surfing daydreams in the air
I've occasionally been a game player
but I've always tried to play fair

I'm a wanderlust driven soul
seeking to lie beneath the stars
A great lover of eclectic music
the only common denominator - guitar

I'm an echo friendly warrior
who cares passionately about the earth
A proud mother of three
and I wallow in their mirth

You see there are many sides to me
Just like you, I am not one thing
I am multifaceted and unique
like the precious diamond on my ring

So please take your time to know me
do not judge me on what you see
There are many chapters still unread
in this book... that is me

Cleansed

As gentle waves caress my feet,
cleanse my soul;
gracefully dance waltz with beach,
whisper tales untold
Jewelled-sun showers golden heat,
at last warms my day,
silk-breeze unfolds my cares,
blows them all away
My mind's rocked upon the crest
of distant waves,
anxiety slips away;
my sanity's saved
Again with hope I meet;
a friend I'd lost
The future now I'll greet
...peace has no cost

The Boy On The Beach

Please don't let my little life be in vain;
ignore my people's suffering and pain
We've been displaced through no fault of our own;
too scared to stay in what once was our home

Left our families, possessions behind;
hoping and praying that peace we would find
Taking perilous risks... just to be free
Cruel twist of fate made me refugee

It's too late for me; the sea claimed my life
Father mourns also my brother... his wife
My name was *Alan*, "the boy on the beach"
Empathise with compassion... I beseech

Thoughts

        I am torn in two
through thoughts of you
                 but
         will thoughts
               ever
                be...
            enough?

Please... Help Me!

I had home,
Smartphone,
wife...
good life

You're just like me
but now...
I'm Refugee

I wish...

I wish to make you so happy
Make every dream of yours come true
Blow gently away your grey skies
Fill your days with clear azure blue

I wish to feel my hand in yours
Reunite our souls... eye to eye
Hear your laughter dance in my heart
Release our true love from fear's guise

I wish to banish the ocean
which keeps us physically apart
Join each of our lands together
Paint new horizons with love's art

I wish to lie beneath the stars
we entwined amidst the heather
Share deepest thoughts at they unfold
as our hopes begin to tether

I wish to be your companion
between us a home we could mould
Create a safe solace bubble
Escape to our very own world

Forgiveness

Forgiveness the greatest gift that one can bestow
Although I fear that there are many, who still do not know
That through relinquishing all our anger, fear, bitterness and hate
Our lives can be replenished, our destines realigned towards a greater, more fulfilling fate
One of true freedom within peace, love and happiness
Let's share the message and banish both theirs and our futile sadness
